Jessa Abaincia: From Payatas to Cum Laude
Jessa Abaincia first came to our church when she was just 14 years old.
And the reason may surprise you.
She heard we had musical instruments, and she wanted to learn to play the guitar.
Sometimes God uses simple things to bring people into our lives.
The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6:
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Jessa’s Story: Growing in Faith and Education
After being with us for a while, Jessa left. For a time, it seemed that perhaps Jessa’s Story had stopped being written.
But Jessa came back. I guess the Spirit of God just wouldn’t let her stay away.
And this time, she stayed.
For approximately 14 years, Jessa has been part of our ministry. Over the years, Jessa became deeply involved in the life of the church. Jessa learned to play the violin, sang in the choir, and eventually took on responsibility as one of our bookkeepers.
At the same time, Jessa continued her education. Through the generosity of our supporters, Payatas Mission Outreach was able to pay for her college education.
In 2026, Jessa graduated Cum Laude as a mathematics major and is now preparing to begin a career in her chosen field.
Jessa’s story is one example of what long-term ministry can accomplish.
We cannot change the circumstances of every child, and we cannot send every young person to college. But through the generosity of those who support Payatas Mission Outreach, we were able to walk alongside Jessa as she grew, served, studied, and prepared for her future.
We are grateful to everyone who helped make her journey possible.
Jessa is your legacy.
